Maung Maung Tinn's Paintings

Level A

This week we looked at some watercolor paintings by the artist Maung Maung Tinn. We wrote short stories about what we saw in the paintings.

"I see a girl. She is six years old.
She goes to school. She lives in Burma.
Today she is not happy."

"I see five children, two boys and three girls.
They are all seven years old.
They are sitting at a table.
They do not write on paper.
They write on boards.
One girl likes school.
She is writing.
The other children are talking."

"I see seven girls. They are singing a song.
They are wearing Karen shirts and white scarves.
They are not in school. They are friends.
They are 19, 20, 18, 17, 15, 14, and 16 years old.
They are single. They are very beautiful."

"I see two happy boys.
They boy on the left is seven years old.
They boy on the right is eight years old."

"I see two children.
One child is eight years old.
The other child is five years old.
Today, they live in St. Paul.
They go to school.
The five year old is in kindergarten.
The eight year old is in 3rd grade."

"I see children. They are outside playing.
There are four boys and one girl.
They are 9, 10, 11, and 12 years old.
They are in Burma.
They are playing outside like monkeys.
Today, they are not in school."
